Artist's Statement:
"I grew up in Texas country and developed a healthy respect for and love of animals. Born to be an artist, I have combined my love of animals and my passion for art. I design. I draw. I paint. My art is a collage of my life, and I try to bring a little bit of Texas sauce to each painting."
Bio:
Vernita Bridges-Hoyt paints the essence of a subject. She has been described as a colorist who paints Impressionism with a Texas twist. She paints strokes of pure color to be mixed by the viewer's eye. She paints the sauce of Texas.
A native Texan and lifelong artist, Vernita has a curiosity about life and always the will to learn. Her passion for new experiences is fulfilled through a dual focus on architecture and art. The professional degree of B.Architecture 1993 University of Houston and experience in the design of medical clinics, multi-family dwellings and hotels paved her way to the opening of V.Bridges Hoyt Design in 1997 with a specialization in residential design. In 2002 Vernita recognized her authentic calling to give back through the creation of artworks. Specializing in paintings of animals and children, she donates a portion of each fee to an approved animal rescue or a charity helping children with cancer. Vernita is a founding member of the worldwide artists' alliance Art Helping AnimalsTM.
