"Animals and art have always been a big part of my life. My father was an art teacher and potter, and I grew up surrounded by border collies and assorted pets; our first dog was a stray who wandered into our lives and never left. I now live on the shores of Scapa Flow in Scotland with my husband, children and ever growing menagerie, working as a full time artist and mother. My childhood fascination with all things furry and feathered, combined with a love of drawing since I could first hold a pencil, has led me to a career that is both my job and my hobby. I simply can't imagine doing anything else."

Bio

I work mainly in watercolour, both transparent and opaque, painting nature in all its forms: flowers, wildlife, pets and birds. My paintings have been featured in books and magazines and published as fine art prints and cards and I am usually working to commission. Current projects include full colour illustrations for a bird book and licensed artwork for a jigsaw company. My constant companion is my rescue dog who lies under my chair while I work.

I am delighted to join the wonderful artists involved in Art Helping Animals, and am really looking forward to the opportunity to help animals in need, even a small way, by supporting the charities that work so hard on their behalf."
