I learned tenderness for animals at an early age from my parents. My father was
a logger, a real "man's man" but I saw him shed tears many times for the sake of a hurt or dying animal.
I was lucky to live out in the country and was able to learn to care for dogs, cats, and even horses while I was growing up. Once, to my mother's horror, I tried to put a flea collar on a coyote pup I discovered in the woods because I didn't want him to have fleas!
At this point in time, I'm happy to say, I'm able to help animals in a more sensible way. LOL!
Through my membership with Art Helping Animals I have been able to join with like minded artists from all around the globe in supporting animal rescue. Because of Art Helping Animals, I learned about Old Dog Haven senior dog rescue and eventually adopted a wonderful 14 year old Peke mix from them. Helping support animal rescue through the sale of my art and joining this group has been a dream come true for me.
