Grendel the First

Such a name, so unlike the Grendel of that legend, lurking in my subconscious for years! You were my very first, so young when you came to me, that you shouldn't have lived at all, but you did live! A very independent little person you became, thank you very much! How I mourned that year without you, but I would not subject you to the six months quarantine that would have been required if I had taken you with me when I married. I loved you too much even to consider it! You were so loved where you were. Your grandparents doted on you. 'Who are you?' you asked, when I returned, but you forgave me, because above all else, you had such a loving heart.

Mojo Bubbins- A Gentle and Beloved Soul

Mojo Bubbins
6/2/2002 to 1/11/2006
Mojo was a young handsome and oh so charming 100 pound American Pit Bull with a huge heart. He had been abused and we took him in, hoping all of those horrible stories were untrue. He turned out to be the gentlest and most loving dog we have ever known.

One of our fondest memories of him is when we brought a tiny kitten, who weighed around an ounce, home. Mojo laid down to look at her, with his head cocked and ears up and looked at me and then licked her, they ended up being the best of friends. He definitely proved to us, and I hope to some of you, not all Pits are bad, like all dogs it is how they are treated.

With love and lots of tears,
Melinda and Eric Dalke

Sir William the White
William was an amazing cat. He was a rescue who rose above the odds and captured the heart of everyone he brushed up against. He "adopted" and raised three dachshunds and was a joy to behold.

He is deeply missed by his human and canine companions.

We Miss You Willie!

My Name is Archie aka Jughead
I was rescued by Golder Retriever Club of Los Angeles.

Jughead passed and is greatly missed by Robin and Family

Dinah Chretien
We have missed her for one year now

She was the most gentle and loving cat. A beauty inside and out. We miss her every day. This donation in her name is to help homeless animals waiting for their forever home.

Stray Guy
?-November 2006
You came to us way to late and showed us so much love.
Purring through everything we had to do, knowing we
all were trying to help you, Through all of it your sweet
personality shined through. You spent you last
couple of weeks in a home full of love, I wish you would
have spent your life with there. Guy, you touched everyones
heart that you met, I hope we touched yours too.
May your life on the bridge be as beautiful as you were.
~Melinda Dalke

Gudrun
You always tried to be SO dignified, so haughty, but your dear loving heart always came through. God let your physical self stay a long time with us that was not long enough.

On your passing, I told you, when you wake, you WILL BE YOUNG AGAIN. Dearest Gudrun, most noble of people. Our hearts enfold you still.

Gudrun is now running at Rainbow Bridge but her legacy continues as she helps homeless pets as a model for artwork.

Lexus was an incredible Dalmatian boy.
We don't know how old he was when we rescued him from the shelter in 1998. The estimate was between one and three years old. Lexus was amazingly sweet, affectionate and mellow. Although he tipped the scales at 65 pounds, in his mind he was a lap puppy and he did his best to fit onto my lap.
Lexus was full of love, trust and fun. He liked to play with the various rescue Dals that passed through on their ways to forever homes. His very favorite activity was to hunt ground squirrels in the avocado groves down in Valley Center, CA. He would fearlessly burrow into huge bushes for hours looking for them. Lexus' life was too short for us. He had to be put to sleep on Halloween of 2004. We miss him still but now he is young, happy, pain-free and chasing those ground squirrels all around the Rainbow Bridge.

Noodle Taylor

Your name waited in our hearts for your coming. And then you came. Tough guy! You had a hard beginning. Your dear Mom didn't survive your birth, but YOU did! Always loving, the good Uncle, and the good Dad.

Kidney disease finally took you, but you fought that, too, tough guy, for 16 months. In the end, you told us, 'it's time now'. Our very first, very special boy!
