My life has always been about animals. The story was told that when I was a baby the family dog, Tiny, stayed by my bassinet, watching over me, warning anyone who came near that I was HER baby and they had better be careful. That was the beginning of my lifelong love of animals. My pets were my best friends, and the zoo was my very favorite place to visit. Growing up on a farm, I was blessed to know many cats, dogs, horses, and cattle. And they still occupy a special place in my heart. I believe it is our privilege and calling to care for all the beautiful and amazing creatures that God has placed on this earth. I am thrilled to be a part of Art Helping Animals, to support the many wonderful animal charities, and hopefully to give back a little to those incredible creatures who have blessed my life. And it is a joy to be associated with such talented, caring artists.

Bio
My profession as an artist grew out of my childhood love of drawing. Ever since receiving my first set of crayons as a child, I have been in love with color, with line, and with the stories they could tell. I have been a working artist for more than twenty-five years now, and I have just begun to explore all the wonders of creation. My work has been collected worldwide, and is also featured in the book, “I’ll Meet My Maker in Blue Jeans,” by Kathleen Wade.
“The Heavens declare the glory of God, and the earth shows forth His handiwork…” Psalm 19
My style has been described as “soft realism,” because it combines the Impressionists’ soft play of light with some of the rich detail of Realism, using Pastels, Oils. Acrylic, Colored Pencil, Watercolor or Mixed-Media. Creating a mood, whether exciting and dramatic or peaceful and serene, is an important part of my work. Whether I am painting a flower from my garden, the animals I love, or the sights I have seen while traveling, I hope to portray the spirit as well as the likeness of my subjects.
